Denizen Museum

I participated in an Interdisciplinary Studio. I partnered with Clayton Musolff (Architect), Maria Veneziano, and Bailey Jacobs (Graphic Designers) to create a tenement museum which is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The goal of this project was to work as a group to design a building that could educate the community on the history of living in Over The Rhine, Cincinnati, and also serve as a community engagement center. The program called for a ticket center, cafe, meeting rooms, offices, and an exhibition space.
Over The Rhine has been on the outskirts of society for decades. The current, majority African American, community is now slowly being pushed further and further out of their community as expensive housing and trendy bars/restaurants replace them. Our goal for our museum is to be a place that helps the current community by encouraging education about the past and present Over The Rhine community.
This museum pays tribute to the different cultures who once populated the city. The exhibits are dedicated to the German, Appalachian, and African American communities and are divided by a use of color to distinguish the spaces.
